What
are Accessory Resources?
Accessory
resources are the things you need to enhance your website after it's up
and running.
They could be programs, such as counters or autoresponders; or links to websites that provide you with various
Accessory services for your website. If you have built your website
and need help in adding enhancements to it then you will find it here.
If
you use any of these accessories and would like to be the featured
website for an example, please let
me know. I will review your website and add your link to the
"See An Example" prompt below the accessory.
Membership
requirements for Giz Gears.
Some
items within this interactive area within Giz Gears require an active Giz-Net
Network membership in
order to participate. Membership
is free and only requires a user name, password and valid email address.
If you do not have a membership account and don't desire to get one, you
can click the "Developer" link for the resources to go to the
developer's website for your download. Programs hosted within The
Giz-Net Network are here for the members' convenience.
Scripts

BS Random Midi - The provider says it's a random midi player that
is written in Perl and requires SSI. It will play a random tune every
time someone visits a page with the script on it. The program reads from
a flat text database containing the midi URL and title. The script also
supports a very customizable output. The Giz-Net Network was
using the script in the SoundShack section until it was redesigned. I
will be adding it back in to the new design later on.

CGI Script.net - The provider says it's a powerful webmaster
resource network that is focused on providing advanced webmaster tools
and resources such as, CGI / Perl scripts, custom script development,
DHTML / JavaScripts, web site templates, script installation, tutorials,
and timely information for web developers of varying skill levels. Most
of the information they have is by request, please do not hesitate to
ask for something if you do not see it posted there!

GTChat - The provider says it's a fast and comfortable webchat
application. Due to use of server push technology and working without a
database like mySQL it uses only a little of your server resources,
which of course won't affect the performance. Some users have problems
with server push because of their proxy servers. For those users there
is also a client pull mode. This provider also hosts GTCounter; a
program shows the overall count of visitors of the site as well as the
count of users online at the moment. Different templates can be used for
output.

Matt's Script Archive - The provider says it has been offering
free CGI scripts to the web community since 1995. It offers thousands of
scripts for you to choose from. Some of the scripts are so popular they
have been downloaded over 2 million times. The Giz-Net Network is currently using
Matt's Guestbook and FormMail CGI scripts.

Picture Frame 1.0 - The provider says this script is for
organizing a number of images on your page. It will display a thumbnail
of each image in a table and link that automatically to the full size
image. You only need to tell it the image directories (no file names) it
does the rest. When i t shows the larger image it displays it on an html
page made on the fly with a standard header and footer, so it's like
every image has it's own page instead of just being an image with
nothing more.
